What Tyres? - NC30
Need to replace the tyres on my bike (currently Bridgestone BT96 used by previous owner)and having trawled through various tyre sites there doesn't seem to be a great deal of choice in standard sizes (150/60/18 Rear +120/60/17 Front). Does anyone have a definative list of what tyres are available in standard NC30 sizes? Ideally looking for a more road biased tyre with decent mileage capability? Other than swapping to a 17" back wheel are there any other profiles that fit/suit the bike?
Thanks in advance

Re: What Tyres? - NC30
The BT96 is a very old tyre. The replacement for it was the BT92 which is a great, long lasting tyre.
The common combo however is to fit a BT090 front for outright grip and a BT92 rear for longevity.
I have done trackdays on BT92 so they have the grip...but you will kill them!
For commuting and all round riding then the 92 lasts very well.

thanks for that.. Will prob do one or two track days a year as well as road miles so want the best combo without splashing out 200 quid 3 times a year! Is Bridgestone the only manufacturer that caters for the 18" 150/60 Profile?

Re: What Tyres? - NC30
why not try a bt-014 rear?
used all three, bike used daily for commuting and currently using bt14 rear.
only problem with 92 rears personally is profile is different and i run off the edge of the tyre when 'having a go' lol

so is the 014 softer than the 92? Is it a middle ground between 020 and 010? Used 020 s before and liked em...

The only issue with that, if you are bothered, is that the 014 is not a H rated tyre for smaller bikes. So, it will probably take a bit more heating up

i was worried about it heating up too until i tried it mark.
cant fault it at all
convinced that the sides on 92 rears are softer than 90 rubber cos they just shred lol
