where is it coming from????

hey guys,after a fairly long ride on weekend on my rvf i noticed a slight oil mark on the offside rear tyre,there was a bit of oily/petroly smelling residue on heat deflector behing the right footrest took of all fairings but cant seem to locate wher its come from(no traces leading to it)the bike smelt a little bit fumey when stopped any ideas would be of great interest!!

HI there. make sure your downpipes aren't blowing where it meets the top piece of exhaust. sometimes a leaking exhaust can cause a greasy reidue and being from the exhuast may well smell like petrol. Apart from that im really not sure. Will be a good excuse to go for another long ride to see if it does it again though....

Maybe chainlube getting flung onto headers? Maybe wipe the whole area with solvent then ride again and try locate the source
