subframe

Post by Dynamohum »

any body had any success in straightening out a subframe ? on my bike its slightly askew from being down the road at some point as far as i can tell its been the right pillion peg mounts that have taken the impact, i got another subframe which has a different reg/rect mounting from my uk spec which i was considering getting modded but if original could be sorted in situ would save a lot of work, all the rear panels line up with the mounting points its just that there is an uneven gap where it meets the tank any ideas would be helpful . thanks :?:

The normal method is to solidly hold the bike, get a scaffold bar and twist...

This may require a few large mates... :D

You can use a spirit level on the tank to get the bike level then put one across the back of the subframe to see when it's straight before refitting bits.
