Re: nc30 - fireblade pics
I prefer the rear to the front at present.
It looks much better with the lowers on.
The belly pan looks a bit low.
I am impressed you have tried it and I think it will look good in the end.
Keep up the pics, I am interested.
Mick

Re: nc30 - fireblade pics
it hasn't moved an inch since i last posted the pictures, i have been stripping all of the non-standard parts of the wifes car before i chop it in for something faster. I did notice the belly is low, im not to worried as yet as the top fairing is not set properly i think it needs to come slightly higher to get the correct height for the lights. so the belly may not be such an issue in the end.
i am concentratign on the back end tomorrow, got to fabricate a number plate holder, and finish the subframe so there is mounting points for the loom, cdi etc..
the plan is to make the rear fairing kind of liek a one piece race fairign that will just slide off once unbolted. will add more pics tomorrow if all goes well.
thanks for all of the comments so far it really does help with the motivation

Re: nc30 - fireblade pics
right has been a lifetime since i have even got close to my nc, with a new car, new baby on the way and etc i have really struggled to find time but i though i would upload a bit more after todays efforts. not a lot looks to have changed today as most work was done the the rear end again, creating areas for all of the loom to mount, number plate brackets, and other bits.
the subframe is now finished in black to better finish as before it was showing all of the cut and weld marks from the original mod.

http://i614.photobucket.com/albums/tt22 ... IM0009.jpg" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
i have been working with the number plate light as well today to get everything 'mot legal' i used as old led light that came with a load of stuff i bought one day, i dont think its bright enough really so will keep working at it.
http://i614.photobucket.com/albums/tt22 ... IM0002.jpg" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
i will use the standard number plate again for mot purposes but think i will get something a bit smaller made for normal daily use. the next thing i am after is a front mudguard, not sure whether i can make a cbr one fit or may need to purchase a tyga version, will look into it. lastly today i pictured her next to my blade to get an idea of how she is coming on and transforming into something different. next few items required, as mentioned front mudguard along with double bubble screen, indicators f & r along with other little things.

once again any thoughts / comments either way are more than welcome.

Re: nc30 - fireblade pics
right as promised some more work completed today, it wont look like a huge change from the last pictures but i have managed to fabricate a clocks / top fairing bracket that fits the cbr fairing. this took most of the morning to get right, NOW BEFORE I GET ANY SILLY COMMENTS THE WING MIRRORS ARE NOT THE ONES I WILL BE USING!! i took these off my blade as the mounting holes are the same size as the 600rr and it helped me with the build, so please not silly bunny ear comments etc.. i have heard them all morning off the wife - they are now back on the blade.
the fairing are still not fully fixed correctly, i have found i have had to move the choke lever down to where the mounting is for the idle tick over screw is so it does not foul on the new fairing. I am going to have to make some changes to the fairings around the lower rad & front wheel for clearance along with the offside coolant hoses as this sticks out quite and also the lower nearside around the brake pedal as this fouls when operated as well. not unsure about ground clearance at the mo, once i have the fairings seating properly and roughly fixed then i will try to check how much clearance i am going to get and make alterations if required.
i am going to have to make some 'infils' between the lower parts of the fairings as the '30 seems a bit wider at the bottom to a 600rr, the fairings are only old track day ones so once i have the fit about right i will pick up some oem honda ones for the final job.
i think the front end wil look far better once i have a screen and front fender as the body presently makes the forks and wheel look very skinny. apologises for the quality of the pictures but i was trying to dodge the rain again today.

Re: nc30 - fireblade pics
sorry not been any changes for a good couple of weeks now. my wifes is expecting our second child and she has had problems with diabetes etc.. all we are getting from the doctors is
so i am more running round after our 2 year old daughter than getting on with the build, i have just bought a abba stand though so i can strip down the front end for new fork seals, stearing head bearings etc.. i have just got some new brake hoses to go with the sp1 calipers i bought a couple of weeks ago so should be a good front end once all together.
im watching some 600rr mirrors, the infils that go from the top fairing to the tank & double bubble screen and other bits on ebay at the mo. Im slighty short on funds as to support a growing family i have just purchased a bigger car.
i have noticed one possible issue with the bars as the cbr fairing is slightly bigger so the clutch / brake levers can catch at full lock unless the position is altered so they are slightly higher, though they are not overly comfortable in this position so i am maybe thinking looking for some different clip on's that are slightly taller not sure yet, will cross that bridge when i next get back into the garage!
i havent forgot everyone i promise, i am just so short on time with everything else going on i dont know whether i am coming or going. once i get the bike up on the stand and have it all stripped at the front end i will post as much as i can!

Re: nc30 - fireblade pics
right, not huge changes today but managed to get her outside in the sun! so i had more room to take pictures which has really given me more drive to do more as standing further away i could start to see things coming on. i have sprayed the fairings with a dash of grey just so i can draw on them and the lines show so i know where to cut ( these will not be the final colours or fairings, these are just cheap race ones to do some working out on )
i have been playing with the abba stand i ordered, this things great!! makes life so much easier - next job is strip forks new seals, oil etc and re-painted.
i have emailed rick 0 for a pair of sp1 calipers brackets so i will have a new braking system ready to go back on at the same time. new mirrors & double bubble screen will be here soon as well. i am now looking for a mudguard to get the front pretty much all together.
i have gone a bit made on pictures today but as everyone wanted more pics i thought i would ablige.
