adjusting Nitron shock?

Upgraded my old shock to a Nitron a while ago but since then have pretty much left it alone. its the single adjustable one with rebound, length and preload adjustment on it. I was wondering wether I am best leaving it alone or if its a good idea to try a few different settings on it to suit my riding more? At the moment it is quite soft and I'm wondering if stiffening it up a bit might help in the corners. Got a track day coming up so was thinking about trying out a few settings then. Don't want to go mucking around with it but sure im not utilizing it to its best. How hard is it to adjust, is there one adjustment that makes a more noticeable difference and is there a big difference in what the settings offer? Thanking you guys.

If you are really in the dark then try not to start fiddling blindly with it.

It is soft? Does it work? do you have poor handling with it?

To stiffen the shock, wind on some preload by compressing the spring using the preload rings on te shock.

If yours is the single adjuster version it has combined rebound and compression adjustment in a set ratio.

try to leave that unless you have it sorted in your head what you are trying to make the bike do.

easiest...pay the £45 to 100% suspension at your trackday and then let them set it up for you...jobs a gudgeon

Yeah thought it might be best to leave it as is, just wondered if it was possible to do a couple of clicks one way, and compare it to a couple of clicks the other, to maybe try and get a feel for how it works, if that makes sense. Maybe leave it for the professionals.
