Re: miles to a tank full
you sure its 13 litres to the reserve? I switch over when the engine starts pulsing and not pulling right and when i fill up this is about 10 litres
as I said riding like miss daisy i can do 130 ish (to about 11 litres to reserve) but where's the fun it that
o worked out riding hard my bike does about 35 mpg ish and slowly its about 42 which isnt too bad is it?

Re: miles to a tank full
I have found this outwith my bike, I guess you could say it is a rough guide:
Tank Capacity:15 Litres (13litres Main, 2litres reserve)
Average MPG: 43mpg. (123miles Main Tank Range)
Fast Riding MPG: 38mpg. (108miles Main Tank Range)
Slow/Steady Riding MPG: 49mpg. (140miles Main Tank Range)
Basically, I try and refuel every 100miles, maybe 115miles if im riding gently. (AS IF!) Simply reset the odometer when you brim the tank and away you go!
Hope this helps you out.

Re: miles to a tank full
Guys,
Whats the reserve like on the 30? the seems to have about 50 miles once it hits reserve.
It makes me chuckle sometimes, Honda marketed the VTR thousand as a sports tourer and it has a tank range of less than a hundred miles. - Our bikes were never really designed to be used for touring etc but have a far better range.

Too many bikes, so little time!

Re: miles to a tank full
when I first got the bike on the road I was getting about 250km's including my reserve lol, now im used to riding again im getting about 160 - 180km's at the most, just filled up after 156km's and it cost me a wopping £9.50p lol, dam I love being back on a bike lol.
cheap to fill up, better mpg then my car, cheaper to insure, cheaper to tax, and a hell of alot more fun!

Re: miles to a tank full
I get 200kms before reserve but I ride like a girl
Never trusted reserve since I once ran right out of fuel straight after switching onto reserve. As soon as it hits reserve now I find a petrol station.

Yep, I've also run out of fuel on my bike. (and have never run out in a car) I was testing the limits. Now I try keep it to one little trip 30km max then petrol station. I've got a trusty rusty old 5L metal petrol tank I keep at home... my own personal petrol station :) it can save you 5-10 mins if you need to go somewhere quick. I should get a new plastic one that doesn't spill petrol everywhere when you pour... :)
Spike: 35mpg sucks dude. Thats nearly as bad as my overfueled NC24 was :) ... 28mpg
I'm keen to see how well it does when I get it back next week.
