The NC30 thread! - Back on track!

I have fitted the G-force Performance mod - really straight forward and easy to do - just followed the process on Mikes website.
The GSXR stator plugged straight into my loom which was a bonus too ( just had to snip a little locking lug off the suzuki plug.)

I have also relocatedd the speed sensor from the digital dash to the rear wheel - just feel that it shoukld be read from there, and will make setting up easier too - especially if I have to get it done on a dyno!

Also need to set up the Rick O CDI with the HRC programme, which will need the power/battery sorting out.

I haven't run the bike like this yet - I need to charge the battery as I left it on by accident when i fell off. Its now totally flat!
I'll be using my track tank and bodywork to test it all out!

Just spoke to my sprayer - Billy from Bodyworks (01736 788618) who tells me all the panels are done and ready for collection - so thats awesome - can't wait to see them.

Had the runaround with the insurance company today - I declared all my mods to them, then the certificate turns up with only paintwork mentioned on it!! Called them to say it was wrong and get passed around to everyone in every section of the company for about an hour; then spoke to a supervisor who sorted out a great deal for me, and it was a cheaper quote than what I had already paid!! So now i have proper cover and some cash back too!

Tomorrow will see the bike running hopefully and then the clocks will get sorted out - finally!!

It still runs even after all the messing about I have done!!
Only a small problem in that I have lost the key for the fuel cap on my track tank

After a few attempts at starting, it eventually fired up - I could see on my dash that the GSXR stator was charging the battery so that all works good, and the decibel killer kept the noise down a little.
A little ride forward in the garage was enough to see that the speedo works well in its new location.

Tank and panels are at my parents house ready to be fitted too, so its nearly ready to go back out on the road
Time to arrange the dyno for setting up the tacho part of the dash and an MOT.
Pics will come once the fairing and tank return from Cornwall.

Also got my keyless fuel cap from China today

Its a mismatch of colours but is fine for the track fairing/tank.

I have decided not to get the bike MOT'd just yet -I have a track day next week then off to Afghanistan a couple of days later.
So ----- when I get back the bike will be MOT'd and its Road clothing put on.

Thats the one and the guy - it was quick delivery and fits well too - I'd ask for a black one - after all its in the photos as that - Communication is good from him/them too.
I recon it might just be here in time :)

looks sick mate cant wait, just got off the phone with my painter and it sounds like the pannels should be all done for the day bar the blue number boards and graphic's so mine should look ok if a bit plane, o and he's giving me hell for the amount of prep work needed on that tank lol

yeh i emailed the ebay seller to ask for black to ,atch my scheme (black and white) whats the quality of the cap like? it was the cheepest i could find lol

iv only ever seen this bike in one piece once (and he stripped dit down the day after), i think this thread should be called OCD'ers anonymous!

Guess what - its gonna need stipping down a bit!!! LOL

The track day was great - the bike went really well - alot quicker than another NC30 down the straight It even stopped great which just goes to show that my 'off' was just me being a over excited with the front brake.

Weather condtions for the day were ok - but the track was pretty damp and didn't dry very quickly. So I took it easy for most f the day - getting used to it all again and gradually increasing the braking and cornering each session.

All the modifications seemed to work well together - the carbs being modded, the R.O. CDI, the exhaust system, the G-force performance Rotor mod. ( just need to sort out a small oil leak from the casing where the grommit isn't seated properly)

Other things I noticed about the bike on the track day are:-

1. the new rearsets I bought are crap - even a little weight on them and they bend - will need new ones
2. the tyres - although really grippy are showing signs of age on the tyre wall (cracking/crazing) -not good
3. the oil leak from the casing meant I didn't go out on track for the last session - time to sort it out.
4. the translogic dash - needs setting up on a dyno - definately!! it showed 228mph down the straight - a bit ambitious even with all the mods!!

I also tried spikes tyre warmers for a session and they're really good - definately worth investing in a pair.

So got a few things to sort/fine tune - but it won't take too long - and the bike will be all ready for my return from Afganistan.
