RVF swing arm
Just bought an rvf400 and while replacing the chain and sprockets found that the old chain hadn`t been tightened in ages and has damaged the swing arm badly. I think the swing arm is for the bin the chain has eaten through to the bearing. I can get a realy nice polished swing arm from a VRF but am not sure if it`ll fit. Has anyon ever this and has it worked.

Re: RVF swing arm
just keep an eye out on here and ebay. be patient and you should be able to find a good conditioned one relatively cheap.
would you have any pic of the damage? interested to see how its happened.
as for the swingarms being interchangable, i dont think so, but not certain. the dimentions are definately different though.

I'm pretty sure they're not a straight swap, might be you could make it fit but IMO not worth it.
If nothing else the pivot is smaller on the RVF and I think the swingarm is narrower at the mounting point too.

load photos into photo bucket and just copy and paste the full IMG code for that pic onto your post. check it on preview as you may need to resize it on photobucket to suit

Yep, if it has eaten through to the bearing I'd consider it to be scrap, I've re-used a swingarm where it's eaten about 2mm into but even then I kept an eye out on ebay and replaced after not that long.chuckie wrote: I think the swing arm is for the bin the chain has eaten through to the bearing.

Re: RVF swing arm
cheers for the heads up on the swingarm on ebay. Managed to buy it for £50 sadly bike won`t be ready for weekend. Anyone know the best way to polish the engine without removing the casings I`ve tried using the kit with the brown and blue sticks but found it nearly impossible to do.
