NC30 Engine

Post by projectnc30 » Thu May 21, 2009 3:27 pm

i am considering a nc30 project in the very near future!

what engines can be put in the place of the normal 400cc lump if i decide to change it??

i have searched on the forum and couldnt find much really

i ask this because i have a crashed damaged gsxr750 srad that could possibly be used if i can fit it in :)

but i am open to suggestions on engine options also does anyone know who supply an underseat exhaust system for a nc30

any info would be great :) cheers

Howdo,

The main reason the NC30 is a special bike is the V4 400 engine in it....

Personally...what you are talking is heresy!

I have seen an RG500 motor in one though..

You cannot fit an IL4 motor in as the chassis is only 2 and a bit cylinders wide...

Underseat pipes - nobody makes them but have a look int he exhausts thread for some ideas...

Welcome to the site...am sure you'll relent and see the V4 for what it is and not change it 8-)

If it was down to me, Id say, VFR 750 V4, but seem to remember clearance issues, or have seen an sv650 motor in one.

Big bore may be the way to go

the reason i have gone for a nc30 is becuase of the range of parts availble if it ever went wrong or if i wanted to do work on it or upgrade it.

i had a vfr400 a few years ago and loved it but had to sell it :(
this is another reason why i want one

wont boring the engine put strains on it??

if you want a faster bike buy a faster one the amount it will cost to upgrade everythin anyway.

the nc30 is as good as its ever goin to be as a v4 400
