Re: sod's law is a bummer!!!!!!!
Sounds fair.
All i meant was that the NC can be a a real pain to bleed, more so than most other bikes.
If you've don it properly with still no luck then I guess it could be knackered.

Re: sod's law is a bummer!!!!!!!
If a master cylnder moves freely and doesnt pi$$ out brake fluid it is OK.
There is nothing that can go wrong with them other then the seals blow (Leaks fluid)or the plunger freezes in bore(Won't move)
There is a high point at the top of the hoses where they connect to the master cylinder that traps an air bubble.
Bleed it at the top where the lines first bolt on or take the master cylinder off the bars, orient it so that the barrel of the master cylinder is up at the lever end and leave it that way for a while so that the air bubbles can work their way up to the resivour.
best solution is a HRC Bleeder replace the master banjo with this, bleed it there and problem solved.

jon

You think the NC30 brakes are a pain to bleed!
Try the linked brakes on a CBR1000F they are unreal! The use of a vacuum bleeder is required and you have to bleed the rear when doing the front and vice versa -totally wacky!

Re: sod's law is a bummer!!!!!!!
its official.....IM A RETARD!!!!!
i got the master cylinder through the post from viper biker(good stuff),so i fitted it the next day and yep you's pretty much called it guys.....still the same.i bled them for a good 30 mins at the calipers and nothing,no resistance at the lever at all.
cmsj1 is spot on with the bleed them at the m/c as well, the air that came out was unbelievable...........after a few attempts the lever was starting to produce some firmness.
there was obviously a air pocket in the m/c that wasnt shifting like jon says and i could have bled the brakes all day and it wouldnt have made a blind bit of difference.........
so if anyone experiences this always bleed them at the m/c as well, coz i know i will.......
my apologies to everyone....cheers guys!!!!!!
p.s....thats me back on the road now :D :D :D
