Extending the life of my NC30

aside from buyinig a second engine and having it overhauled (which i plan on doing later this year)
what else can i do to ensure i get as many miles out of my little crotch rocket as possible?

keeping it serviced regulary is the way to go,whether you do it yourself or have it done at a garage.

regular oil changes are a must,valve clearances will definately pro-long the life of the bike.also washing the bike regulary keeping the suspension and non mechanical parts all hunky dory.electrics and charging system can be a achilles heel so keeping that well maintained is a must.

Also, adopt a safe attitude towards riding it - this will help prolong the life of it by not throwing it down the road/into hedges, not coming into contact with other vehicles on the road, etc.

no riding into/through/over hedges (even if the jump looks super sweet and i could totally make it)

will be booking her in for the year service soon..
think i may check things like oil and water pumps soon.. just in case

Check the haynes manual for service intervals and parts that need replacing.

A lot of parts get neglected (bearings, etc) because many of these bikes change hands often.

wheelies are a sure fire way to turn your work of art V4 engine into scrap. apart from the risk of broken front engine mounts, they seem to spit out main and big end bearings with prolonged one wheel pointing skyward.
granted the old NC is a bit lardy up front but there have been a few skilled / brain dead on here in the past who seem to have quite remarkable skill in wheelies. sadly it always ends in tears for the engines
