As for the tax disc subject, I now keep mine in the rear seat storage. When in the normal position by the swingarm it got stolen on two occasions (??) as the bike used to be left outside. When questioned on a routine stop by the police I explained the predicament and they weren't overly fussed, but I may have just been lucky.
