NC29 tires

Post by badbannedbiker »

Need some new tyres for my NC29, I ride in all weathers so I'd like something with good wet grip aswell as grippy enough to enjoy on hot dry days. Think I'm currently running some fairly average continentals. What you recommend?

Cheers

I am running with Dunlop GRP70s and I will replace them with the Dunlop alpha10 which is the new generation repl cement. I use these mainly for track days, so they may not last long on the road, they used to do a GPR 80 which was more road biased (longer lasting). I've also used Bridgestone BT090s (sticky) to good effect. Again these don't last as long as the BT092 which are the longer lasting versions.

i've had the BT092s as well, loved them and got crazy mileage and 3 trackdays out of them  i am very lightweight and light on tyres though.

also worth thinking about the Pirelli Diablos, i raced on these (control tyre!) last year and the year before and love these too, they really are great!

if my nc29 was going back on the road, it would be Diablos or 092s for winter road/commuting, but would try the 090s for fun road stuff/trackdays having got on well with the 092s.

BT092's are a good all rounder, I haved used them daily in the past on both my KR1-S and my NC30. I rode the NC30 to the Valencia Moto GP and tyres were no bother at all, they still had plenty of life in them when we got back to the UK.

fast bikes have a review of the different tyres brought out this year, cover rubber comps, comparisons etc if you ve got the cash to pay.
me ive had metzeler rennsports, which were sticky as hell, but wore out quick on isle of (sh)wight roads, conti road attacks, good but didnt handle the winter and went/turned perished (came up all slick round the edge and bit twitchy on cornering) now on bt090 and they re running allllll good.

Pirelli diablos are bloody brilliant in the wet and even better in the dry.
Not particularly long lasting though i must say.

I've gone from Sportec M1 to Pirelli Diablo Strada and can't rate them enough
Very smooth and progressive and should last 6K despite being a mileage tyer they don't feel hard (not like those shocking BT020's and the likes of ) been blating around and using the whole of the tread no chicken stripes left with no issues at all.

Hi All,

I have a budget NC29 race bike, what are the best race F400 tyres for it?

I currently have BT090R's as that's what I am used to, I'm only a novice and have only had 1 race so far.

Thx
