9000 rpm stutter... carbs, jets, etc,.
Hello,
I've now finished putting my project bike together and am trying to sort out the engine and tuning. Accelerating through the gears, I get a stutter at 9000rpm. The reason is probably that I've add Mr France's racing pipe, a titanium end can and a K&N air filter. I'm also guessing that I'll need to change the jetting/carb needles?
My question is - does the stutter around 9000 rpm sound like its being caused by a jetting issue (in turn caused by the new parts), and is the DynoJet Kit the most probable solution which will smooth this out. I'd like to try to avoid having the bike setup on a dyno as the costs are reasonably high.
Thanks,
Bryan

youve spent all that cash on the pipes and can etc, in for a penny in for a pound i say, save the cash up and get it on the dyno, i know the cost is always an issue with anything, im a pennyless student so i know a thing or two about pennypinching, but i think its worth it

Okay, well instead of putting like, I don't want to spend the cash on the dyno, I should have said I'd like to get the kit which should help the problem for now, until I have the cash to stick it on the dyno. So would the dyno-kit help the problem until I can get it on the dyno to sort it out properly?

Just try some bigger jets if your on 108's try some 112's or 115's. Or just get it rejeted on a dyno if you don't feel confident .
You don't need a dynojet kit unless you have rich midrange problems.
Where abouts are you ?

Hi Waza,
I'm around east London (docklands/royal docks area). So basically, thats what I'm trying to figure out - if the dynojet kit would affect the top range as the problem I'm having is at 9000 rpm. By it being at 9000 rpm, I'd assume that I'd need a bigger main jet than what I have right now (which I believe is standard size). Where abouts can I find jets?
Thanks for the help,
Bryan
