NC29 Cam cover
In putting on a set of new carbs, I had some issues with them fouling on the cam cover of the engine. When I compared new engine to old, I discovered I have had my cam cover on back to front for the last 2 years!
Is there any particular reason for having the cam cover vent over the exhaust rather than the inlet?
Running the cam cover back to front does resolve my clearance issues with the carbs...clearly there are no clearance issues with the cams as I had it this way round for a while.
Thoughts?

Re: NC29 Cam cover
what are the carbs?if they are not 29's then why fit them unless you have flatties.
if 29's there should be no probs with them.

Greggo,
I really don't understand how you can fit cam back to front. There is crankcase breather on the top of the cam cover.

Mine vents to a bottle behind my instrument cluster, so it doesn't matter which way on it goes from that perspective.
I was just interested to know if there was a specific reason the vent was placed over the inlet cam as standard.
I've certainly noticed no negative effects from having it back to front.

Flatslides this year eh Greg?
With the new F400 mod rules I'd love to get some for my V4, but the linkages would be a bitch to make up!

Re: NC29 Cam cover
It was as much work to go backwards and run in the standard class (despite not having done anything internal) because of the rules as it was to move forward to build a proper 'modified' bike. In the end I went down the proper modified road. Especially when I just happened to wake up one morning with a credit card hangover and a bunch of 'interesting' stuff in the garage...
