ok progress is being made

iv got an rvf front fairng lowers and rs250 tail unit now (see seat unit below)

Image
Image

aswells as a lightweight fairings hangar than i intend to weld onto an alloy steering stem plug, and a black tinted nc35 screen (which i will swap for a clear dp one if anyone is interested)

Image

tyre stocks are on the up also, with a slightly scrubbed (seriously it looks like new) front pirelli wet, mre scrubbed (done one td) 090 front and a very scrubbed (recon it would last one td if i can desquare the centre a little, sides are mint, like new) 090 rear

Image

Iv rebuildt the carbs fitted 2.5mm slides and extra 0.5mm washers on the needles and a Dual Density filter foam for Rick O also got a set of race fuel lines made up by a friend for a bit of a bargain as the originals were perished and had kinked badly, and the HRC rearsets are now on te bike along with a braided rear line and referbed the rear hub

Iv lockwired the rear sprocket, oil filer and drain plug and the filter on so the bike should be ACU legal with its race lowers

My nsr250 quick action throttle has arrived and after a while playing with siezed bolts it fitted so shud help get the power down quicker when i do get out on track

saddly iv also had my run of bad luck, being messed around for over 2 months, although did get a refund eventually on an rs250 rear shock and no refund on an nc23 front wheel so still on the look out for affordable ones of both of these

got a trackday booked at Castle Coomb on the 20th and my acu licence ctc course is on the 6th, aswell as the promise that if i can get to a trackday in may (donnington gp) Scott Smart will follow me for a session on give me some tips which i cant wait for

calendar for me looks like this so far

20th april Castle Coombe trackday
12th May Donnington Park GP Trackday
20th June thruxton NGRRC
22 August Castle Coomb New Era
5th September RAF Odiham Trackday
17th October Thruxton Bemsee (maybe)
31st October Lydden Hill Bemsee (maybe)
and any time i can get up to mallory for testing

Is anyone else planning any of these events? be good to meet up with someone

Looking Good mate,

I fitted an RS250 rear once before and found I had to cut away a fair bit of fairing around the reg/rec to get it to fit properly. It was either do that or fit it using spacers (which didn't quite look right)

iv had to trim the bottom a bit because it used to close back in on itself for the undertray but goes over the reg/red alright now

the only thing is iv had to trim the undertray a fair bit, had to cut the tool holder out and even now the last bit sticks out from under the seat unit but when its painted black it wont be as noticible (I hope)

spike save your money, the 23 wheel is barely an upgrade any unsprung weight saving you have negated with fitting caliper brackets when the STD 30 brakes are more than good enough. Plus it looks fecking awefull. Spend your money on a decent set of tyres not some squared of rubbish that will do nothing but slow you down.

ok if you want to do it its being sponsored (and semi run) by moto rapido ducati dealership

here's a link, just give them a shout and they will be able to organise ur entry etc

http://www.motorapido.co.uk/view%20news ... 1236018238" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

and tanuki the nc23 wheel was only so i have another wheel, and because it slightly lighter id suse that for the dry tyres and the standard for the wets, + 23 wheels go for alot less than standard 30 ones

o and the reduction in weight would make a bigger difference than fitting caliper adapters, the calipers wont be spinning round at 100mph! (or at least i dont want them to be :) ) yes the change in weight onto the suspension would be about the same with 23 wheel and adapters but its not about that, its about rotating inertia, ess means you can accelerate, brake and turn in quicker because there is less inertia to overcome

although the 23 wheel isnt alot lighter (like a dymag or magtek) so it would be hardly noticable in reality

o and the rear will be in the bin after castle coomb I think, or sooner if i cant get it more round looking before, only cost me £10 posted so may as well give it a go, thing is there's over 2mm of tread on the sides just under 1 in the centre...

ok got the rvf front end on today and i really like the look of it!

Image

(now who can guess who i got the fairings and tail off then?)

also got myself a 42 tooth rear sprocket as it is what iv been recomended for thruxton and castle coomb
