Swingarm tool

Post by iron chef »

Hi people,

Basically, im looking for the tool that undoes the lock nut so you can remove the swingarm on an NC30/35. Im not really looking for the ebay job that is just a socket, im looking for the hollow socket with the handle so you can get to the center.

Can anyone help? perhaps on a loan basis?

Ive spoken to Mr Honda and he says £26, it might be a chance for somone who has used it once to sell it to somone in neeeeed :)

Cheers,
Matt

here we go guys . . . The pics are from my phone so not greatest quality but they give you some idea

Image
i tried it on my nc30 locknut . . . its a pretty snug fit !!

Image
unfortunately i didn't have any stainless going begging. However, i did have a lump of 50mm plain carbon bar already bored to almost the right diameter. all was left to do was turn a few mm off the outside so it will fit below the surface of the frame.
Image
loverly blue swarf . . .
Image
part off then off to the mill

the rotary chuck is indexible in divitions 1/4's, 1/6's, 1/8's, 1/12's, 1/16's and 1/24's of a full 360 degrees
Image
Image
there are only four lugs on the locknut so obviously i used 1/4 devitions
now back to the lathe to clean up the burrs and machine a small taper around the lugs . Image
i set the compound slide to about 10 degrees for the taper
Image
Image
quick blast with the sand blaster and an oxide black oil finish . . .
Image
what ya think ??

Awesome! I'm sure if theres no takers on here they'll sell on ebay or the likes.

My uncles the same with the using a lathe etc, he's restoring a Honda P50 at the moment, when I last saw him he'd turned a 2 piece mold to cast his own rubber bushing seals out of quick set modelers silicon :D
