talking of sp forks....
does anyone have a decent copy of the sp fork diagram and any instructions to go with them, i.e what turny bit does what?

oh and if i take out the screws at the bottom of the fork leg can i drain the oil out through there? just being lazy!

Top centre adjuster rebound damping, lower adjuster compression damping, top outer adjuster is pre-load. Dont drain the fork oil out of the lower screw it will just fill with silt and block up in no time. If you are wanting to change the oil it is a case of full strip/clean and rebuild. To change the oil alone is just a waste of time as all the sediment will be left in the damping mechanism (they really do get messy inside).
Standard yamaha settings are damping wound 8 turns out from fully in and preload wound out 6 small bands from fully in. Be careful on rebuild though as you need to set the amount of rebound clicks before screwing the fork top back on.
I have rebuilt mine annually so if you need any advise let me know.
It is also worth replacing the alloy distriutor at the very bottom of the fork lower, these wear away and reduce the effects of the damping adjustment.
