Re: CMSMJ1 - race bike build thread
Well....the little git is firing on the no3 and no4 cylinders before my 3 batteries went flat..lol
Reset the pilot mix to 2 turns out, reseated and clamped the carbs and using the no9 fuel tank as it has fresher fuel.. getting some good bob bob bobbedy bob from the two cylinders so I reckona bit more battery juice and it will catch on the other 2..
A note though - would ER10EH plugs be harder to start form cold all else being equal when compared to ER9EH?
cheers gang.

Cheers Cammo... Think I have figured it out.. The carbs I took an hour to fit had a fuel filter inline on the left hand bank of carbs. I had checked that the floats were full by letting a sniff drain out of them before Irefitted and clamped them on.. I have pulled the filter off and it is manky..so not gettin fuel to 1 and 2 cylinders.
I am hoping this is it at least..lol SO, new carbs (or even my RVFones off no9) are going to be whacked on as a quick tester.
It was so close tonight but it is not warm in my garage so perhaps am pissing in the wind slightly with the Er10s
Oh well. Keeping me amused and out of trouble at least!!
Just want the fecker started..
I also see my front sprocket nut is fooked. Gonna let the bike shop sort it when I get them to fit me a chain..JOY

Re: CMSMJ1 - race bike build thread
With the ER10's I do find it a bit hard to start/takes much longer on choke, but even in the garages at brands at 7am last weekend it started without too much trouble, just a while before it'd settle to a proper idle...
Hope you get it sorted soon, I've got the fun task of stripping down my bike again this weekend, want/need to get much better access to the front head, maybe even removing it/the engine, in order to get a sheared bolt for one of the downpipes out...

Re: CMSMJ1 - race bike build thread
I found the Er10's needed more care starting from a cold engine, i put a fresh set in a winter rebuild that hadnt been started for 5 months and killed the plugs through flooding, put the er9's in and started on the button. I now have Er10's back in but im more carefull starting from cold now

Cheers for the info guys./
I might swap the carbs and plugs from no9 ino this just to hear it running.
Am going to give it some flammable aerosol into the trumpets to give it a kick too...cheapo BO buster would be good..lol
