I am going to run the stock exhaust can for now instead of the unknown name brand race can that I have. I don't think it was intended for NC30/35's. It has an extremely loud obnoxious sound to it and the bike runs much better with the back pressure of the standard can. Do you recommend I change back to standard jetting? I only went from 108 to 110 main jets and added .5mm shim under the needles. Do the RVF's run good and clean with standard jetting or are they lean from the factory? Cheers!

This week is BikeWeek so I'll have no time to work on the bike, but the following week I'll finally get around to mounting the bodywork and posting up some pics of the finished project.

I feel like an idiot, the quote below was taken from my 01/30/09 post in this thread. Go back and look. I should have noticed the error of my ways back then!

"Checked and verified that the coil wires were hooked up correctly by looking back at pics of the bike before tear down and markings on wires with Black Sharpie pen, verified with other pics of RVF bikes/coils. Haynes manual electrical diagram appears to show connections in a different manor??? Error???"

Cleaned, sanded, and polished up and installed the standard can. Going to run that for the moment. Oil, filter, and ANOTHER set of new plugs. Rode the bike around the neighborhood for almost 45 minutes. Runs great. My only concern is the dreaded "flat spot" between 3000-5000 rpm, which is exagerated in first gear by my slightly taller than stock gearing. Above that it pulls strong and hard all the way to redline in all gears. It is more of a stumble, or it bogs down for a second and then it catches on. Can't decide if it's lean at these rpm's or if it's rich and loading up off idle. The only carb changes are the additional .5mm shim under the needles and 110 main jets, everything else is stock at the moment. It's even appears to be running a little rich, ie: black smoke at idle, strong exhaust smell, and black carbon on the NEW plugs. I am debating changing the shims and jets back to stock while running the standard can. I am not concerned about power, I just want it to run clean. Of course it's much warmer here so that may affect the final jetting. I may dyno the bike just to get some baseline numbers. The bike starts fine, idles smooth, and runs good at higher speeds, which is much better than what I was dealing with over the last few months. I'll hang all the rest of the bodywork this week and takes some more pics. Cheers!

Alright then mate...we can waiting another few days...has been a fair few months watchin this come to life!

Carb wise - would be going std on it and go from there. 108s and no extra washer and see how it likes it. Pain in the rump of course..

New plugs too? Sheesh...how much are they over there? too much like everywhere else?
