Just a bit of advise as per usual please guys

Post by Big Dave 79 » Thu Feb 26, 2009 1:38 pm

Hi All,

Some of you have been kind enough to help me get a sick nc30 back to life.

Non-starter.

So far I've checked
Clean Fuel....check
Carbs...check (fuels getting in and plugs are getting wet)
Clean plugs....check
spark....check
kill switch...check
air filter off so theres plenty of air

Before I did all that the bike did start after I changed the battery and I left it tickover.....the moment I grabbed the throttle it died....and hasnt started since.

When I try and start the bike now it just turns and turns drinks the fuel and then after a while back fires

Im now thinking about the pulse generator???? but before I shell out the cash what should I be checking for (I have the service manual) so I know where it is but is there a tell tail sign that its f**ked

Could this be the cuse of all the blood sweat and tears?

I look forward to your input here.

Thanks for the help as usual

I'll second that it is the vaccum hose to the tank. I had the same problem

Ok guys,

So i've just got a couple of questions.

The vacuum hose - top of the tank??(or is that just the breather) or vacuum tube of the fuel tap? because I dont have that.

On my bike there is one pipe from the fuel tap to the t-connection going to the carbs,

Some people mention this fuel tap but like I said I dont see it (where does it go?) One end on the tap and the other goes where????

cheers

There are 3 outlets on the fuel tap -one large adn 2 small. The large is to carbs, the middle small is the vacuum, the outer does not have anything to do.

The vacuum is on no3 cylinder which is the rear on on the right hand side as you are saat on the bike.

I think it is not this as you note that there is fuel in the bike and if there was no fuel it would not have made the pop and got your plugs wet.

Does your tank leak fuel when you leave the tap turned on?

yes - exactly. You have had "the HRC Tap mod" done to the tap. This is not normally a good thing but it eliminates the vacuum hose as being a problem...as you don't need one!

Just have to remember to turn the tap off or you might get fuel leaking into the cylnders and into the sump :o

So....I'll go 50 pence...for plugs still

Graeme france (france and Li asia trading) had some for sale for very cheap in the for sale section a couple of weeks ago.
