I just thinking to play with shock size. Sorry due to lack of english I tried to show all my thinking in picture. Please, correct me if I'm wrong...

From my understanding points 1 + 2 are correct. If you raise the rear ride height you will effect the geometry (rake and trail) which will result in a faster turning, but reduced stability in a straight line. By how much depends on the difference in length of the shock that you are using. When I started playing around with my bikes suspension I took a look at some of the work that Tony Foale has done. Very interesting, worth a read and the programs to calculate rake and trail etc are useful as this is what you are altering.
As for point 3 you are incorrect. The firmness of the suspension is controlled by the stiffness of the spring, the damping rates (compression and rebound) and the pre load settings. Altering any of these will make the ride more or less hard. But I'm not a setup expert.
