MISSING HYBRID HORSEPOWER FOUND!!!!!
I think ive found my missing horsepower,im only going by the seat of my pants but its def more responsive and revs out alot quicker and it was all my fault!it punches the front wheel up HARD in first and max throttle in second has the front dancing around and feels like its just hovering over the tarmac.like i say till i get it back to the dyno its only seat of the pants and the weathers been cold and slippery but its definately an improvement.the reason?- my own ineptitude and impatience.when i modded the airbox i didnt put the airbox carb holes forward enough to let the tank drop properly and give the intake snorkel enough space to breathe as it was butted up against the tank and couldnt suck enough air and hence ran very rich.i did jack the tank up slightly-but it wasnt enough, the intake snorkel was still to close to the tank to suck enough air.now with the fz750 airbox lid and the tank with enough clearance it can draw enough air and boy it is a different motor. i think i will put back the 118 main jets(im running 115s) and raise the needles to richen it up as now feels weak at the bottom and time permitting i can get it back on the dyno and see if im right. if so im gonna do another airbox for hybrid 1 and this time do it properly!!!

Re: MISSING HYBRID HORSEPOWER FOUND!!!!!
Yep,a case of too much speed and not enough haste as me old nan used to say.but iwont make the same mistake with the new airbox for hybrid1.ive got hold of a complete fz750 airbox which though the carb holes in it dont line up it looks like it will be persuadad to fit.its not as tall as the tj box but a bit flatter and more importantly the volume looks about %20 bigger and the same width with a very similar air intake as the tj just with a bigger intake trumpet.i could run it with whats on it at the moment but the tank is jacked up quite high and it looks a bit daft too be honest and it would be nice to find a good solution to the problem that maybe anyone else could do if they go the hybrid route.we will see!

Re: MISSING HYBRID HORSEPOWER FOUND!!!!!
Mine was like that 1st time out (although I had a cut down 600 Genesis snorkel on it)
In the end I ditched the snorkel so that I got air in from all sides and am holding the filter in place with wire wrapped round the bolts and criss crossing the filter. It's secure enough and I dremmeled the rim down near the bolt holes so that it pulls down on the filter.
I also ended up raising the front of the tank by about 10mm.

Re: MISSING HYBRID HORSEPOWER FOUND!!!!!
i tried running with the snorkel removed but with the filter held firmly in place when it was on the dyno and it ran really badly(very weak) but i was running my smallest jets with needles on their weakest settings.as soon as i have some time ill get back down there for another run.
