heater gauge
hello all just wondering what to test and how, my heater gauge is not working right, when you turn the key on the needle moves but only a little bit, have tried another gauge and the same thing happens, would anyone think this could be the temp sensor if so how can you test it?
would be greatful for and advice

Re: heater gauge
hi weeman.
I have read this in the nc30 WS manual, and should be the same for the cbr.
Testing of the temp gauge is as follows:
disconnect the thermosensor cable. turn ignition key on (no need for the engine to be running), ground the thermosensor cable to ani point of the frame. The temp gauge shoul go to "H". Dont keep the cable grounded, it will damage the gauge.
The thermosensor resistance should be:
130-180ohms@ 50ºC
45-60ohms @ 80ºC
10-20ohms@ 120ºC
hope this helps you out
