Changing head
I know this topic has been addressed, but I need to know some more.
I am replacing the top head, as one of the spark plugs was ejected, taking the thread with it.
I have all the parts I need, but can't find details of torque settings and tightening sequence to fit new head. I have found valve clearances from Bat Motorcycles, but as it's an import, information seems to be very light on the ground.
Any info would be greatly appreciated. Cheers

Re: Changing head
Hi
Have the info but not at hand, will post on thurs night.
I do know that the tightening sequence starts at the middle nut and then X crossess its way out towards the sides, im sure if you look they had numbers cast on the cylinder head at the side of the nut?

Re: Changing head
Thanks, I'll have a look for them. Haven't really had a proper look yet, wanted to try and get some info before I start stripping the bike down.
The other info would be great, thanks.

Re: Changing head
I was told this after I had bought another head. Originally I was told the head would have to come off to do this anyway, so I tht it easier just to buy another one.
Never mind, live and learn ey. The money's spent now, so I'll stick with it.

Re: Changing head
Right mate here we go!
Initial torque setting is 10N-m/7 lb-ft, final torq is 27N-m/20 lb max of 29N-m/21 lb-ft .
Then looking at the motor from above/behind with the exhaust ports away from you and the inlets facing you, you start with the left/center/exhaust side nut then rgt/ctr/in nut - rgt/ctr/ex - lft/ctr/in - lft/mid/ex - rgt/mid/in - rgt/mid/ex - lft/mid/in - lft/out/ex - lft/out/in - rgt/out/ex - rgt/outer/inlet nut. Hope you can understand what im sayin and hope this is of help.

Diamond. Thank you, I have been trying to get hold of that for a long time.
Finally I can get the little rocket back on the road!
Couldn't be clearer mate, thanks a lot. I'll let you know how it goes.
