Sprocket advice.

Post by eltel » Sat Jan 17, 2009 8:37 pm

Hi all,

Currently my Nc30 has the standard sprockets & chain (Front 15 tooth, rear 40 tooth & 525 chain). Is there anything i can do to get better acceleration whilst keeping the 525 chain . Was thinking of reducing the front to a 14 tooth sprocket & keeping the chain & rear sprocket standard. Has anyone done this & will it effect the speedo & top end speed:?:

Thanks,
Terry
If you can't get it up them, then get it down them.

yes any change on the sprockets is going to throw the speedo out but does it really matter ,14t on the front makes for a nippy little bike and 14t/43t makes a crazy bike on the road with lots of gear changes and big smiles

go get it done and stop asking questions ... ;)
It's not having what you want but wanting what you've got....Loud ,Proud and Modified ....

Definitely 14 front and 44 rear. Accelerates like a bullet and revs out at 100mph.
How hard can it be?
