Cam Chain

Post by Thunderbike_steve »

Hi guys, sorry been away for a while so not put any posts up.
Anyway small question,
Does anybody know of a place where I can get a Cam Chain with an extra link in it (for a tundercat)? I need one for the 727cc engine i'm building since i'm using a 3.5mm spacer gasket the cam chain will need to be 7mm longer so i thought an extra link would sort that.
Also I have found a way of building a 727cc engine a LOT cheaper :D . I will put a post up with everything you need and how to do it when my pistons turn up next week so I can make the exatct calculations.
Anyway hope some of you can help

Hi Steve

Wish I knew .... but, There used to be a company who did bike mechanics by the road, they had chamchains with soft links .... so if you had 2 soft links it would get you to right size ...

How long is the original FZR600 3HE chain ???
If everything remains the same from one engine to the other then the only variable is the stroke .... and that chain maybe longer.

Hmmm, cheaper. You know how to get a Yorkshiremans attention!
Interested in this one when you get it posted. I want to make one too!
Have you tried M&P? You might only need a half link to make up 7mm.
