revving problem nc23

Post by jamie1980 »

hi all, i am new to the forum and new to hondas. i have bought an nc 23, and ever since i have been gettin balder and balder due to ripping my hair out syndrome. when i give it a handfull it really struggles to get through between 5 and 6000 revs. if i rev it through gently though it will go through smoothly all the way to the top. i have changed the plugs, oil, all filters, cleaned and checked the carbs thoroughly and balanced them. the bike is totally standard and i think it has had a restrictor kit fitted but now has been removed (by who i dont know).
any help would be massivly appreciated

maybe the jetting was altered to suit the restrictor kit...and hasnt been changed back
at a guess it sounds like its lean...have you checked the sizes of the jets?

cheers for the reply. no i have not, i dont know what size they are meant to be. is there any way of measuring them and do you think it would be worth replacing them anyway. it was definately restricted, i found the certificate last night. sorry for all the questions but i am well green when it comes to this, usually i would stick it in a shop but i have spent so much money on it already and it was only meant to be a cheap track bike. :( the mrs aint started complaining yet and i dont wanna give her any ammo :D
