Electrical power loss to the front Panel

Hi I had a speedo failure, it started vibrating wildly during a journey and the needle fell off. I changed the panel for a second hand one which worked fine and I took the bike on a short test ride, half way through the whole dashboard panel failed with only the speedo working (lights rev counter etc all dead.)
The engine starts fine and runs, but nothing else works. I tried reinstalling the old panel to see if the replacement one had failed but I had the same effect

I checked visually all fuses but none seem bust. I put a multitester on the 2 multiplugs, but could only find one or 2 with voltage on when the ignition key was activated.

I am at a loss, what could suddenly wipe out all electrical function to the front end? any ideas except the fuses that I checked?
