Re: rear wheel ?
The rear ducati wheel varies between a 5.5 and 6 inch rim. typical parts bin specials, some 916's went out with 5.5 and some with 6, but most 748's with 5.5 inch rears. most of the early brembo wheels with the "ducati racing" embossed are 5.5 inch but i have one thats 6 inch odly enough from a 94 strada. most 996 wheels are 6"
its really pot luck.
the later 5 spoke marchesini branded rims are often 6" and will take either a 180 or 190.
the 3 spoke brembo weighs a ton, and the standard 5 spoke marchesini isnt much lighter, but the 5 spoke marchesini from a 748R or 996R or 998S (monoposto) or 998R are much lighter magnesium wheels and can be identified often by the more solid spokes (without the indent the alloys have) but dont confuse it with some ex race cheap magnesium rears on ebay designed for the use on 748RS's and 998RS's which are all a large hub fitment and possibly 16.5 inch too. the fronts ran a widetrack front end either using ohlins forks or showa items.
also not reccomended for 2 up work on the magnesium wheels either - but you knew that already i guess
