anyone know the paint code or a close paint match for the rvf400 fork bottoms?

Am I right in thinking you mean the black part that carries the caliper? I'm sure it's a standard matte black Ceracote finish.

yes, it has that slight hint of green to it and am struggling to match it up.
if its cerakote that would certainly explain why I'm struggling to find a match

Are you saying there's a Cerakote matt black that'll match the original fork lowers or that the original finish is Cerakote? I'm asking because I thought Cerakote was a relatively new product and wasn't around 30ish years ago.

Cerakote should be a 99% match, I know of two people that have used it and say it's pretty spot on for the Japanese colour that has a slight green tinge.
