Hi Guy's I'm in the process of replacing the sump on my race bike do I have to remove the front exhaust to be able remove the sump??
Looks like i wont be able to clear the oil pick up etc unless I remove the exhaust???

Yes, you will need to remove the headers to get the sump out. Bit of a pain, but well worth it (and maybe a fluid change for the rads too ;) )

Yes you have to remove them, I did this earlier this year, basically after an oil change I cracked the sump doing up the sump plug (don't ask). Then snapped off a stud trying to remove the front down pipes, then had to replace the exhaust clamps lol, all turned out to be an expensive oil change :shock:

Oh Hell Thats how I cracked my sump :oops: Best I get the WD40 out so I dont snap off the header stud.

You can cheat a little by slackening the header bolts and the link pipes then pulling them forward a little - then if you can manage to gett the biggest of the fins past the two pipes under it you can get the sump out.

Well... if you have the time. Make it easy and do it the normal way. If you were like me and had limited time and had just dropped a shim into the engine :o :cry: and had a theory you would find it in the bottom of the sump - which I did 8-) along with a zip tie :?
