switch gear is being a pain in the arse
tonight i had to bring my bike home from where i keep it 20 miles away as the other half is needing the car.........thats no problem
it's also like a monsoon, thats no problem either but the
switchgear is taking the absolute piss out of me....big time
the full beam switch has been a bit of an arse lately but always worked okay....no problems anyway, but tonight whilst coming home it would stick on full beam and not come off at all, then when it would come off the lights would go off momentarily(
)then thankfully come back on on dipped beam.
then it would be a complete ass and not go back onto full beam.....what a nightmare it was getting home in the pissing wet monsoon of a shitty night........
i will get it sorted tomorrow when i get the chance, easily sorted and thankfully it will be light tomorrow when im travellign to work......
im glad to get that out my system....thanks guys

crappy old 18 year old electrics ,how dare they not work as intended ...
hope it's just something stupid like the contacts are gunked up and thats all thats messing them about, and worst case i'm sure a left hand switch gear can be found in working order

yeah,i have a few kicking about in bits.....hopefully the right bits if needed!!!!!!
the contacts are obviously not very good and especially the high beam on off switch is needing a good look at............!!!!!!
i will need to get it sorted tomorrow because i will be using the bike tomorrow night, sunday night and monday night.
then it's back to the workshop to be kept nice and warm for the up coming shitty winter months.

Sounds like H4 bulbs with no dip relay's fitted in line and the switch is starting melt.

Re: switch gear is being a pain in the arse
ive had that problem before with previous switchgear but atm im running 60/35 bulbs so that is not a issue..........
i never got round to sorting or having a look at the switchgear as the bike decided to play up as i arrived at work...
now running on 2 cylinders,at least the bike had the heart to wait until i got to work before acting the goat!!!!

Re: switch gear is being a pain in the arse
That was happening to me too
. Not funny when you are barreling up to a corner
The offending switchgear was destroyed when I was rearended so I guess I will never know why it did it.
Do let us know what you find in there
