Nc23 type 5 decal help
I have recently brought a scruffy nc23 that I am going to give a light restore
The fairings are in a poor state and half will require plastic welding or finding better ones.
That’s not too much of a concern but I’m really struggling to find a half decent type 5 reproduction decal kit before I attempt to repair them
does any one have a recommendation?
It just seems a shame to bin them in favour of some Chinese fairings unless I have to.
Nice genuine 13k mike bike that I’m sure would be more desirable with its original fairings albeit resprayed or am I wasting my time and better off going straight to aliexpress?

Re: Nc23 type 5 decal help
I think you're better off saving the originals if at all possible. Chinese will cost you £300 give or take and the fit can be dodgy - check out the long list of comments on here (V4 section). I've had original panels repaired & resprayed and you wouldn't know they'd been damaged. I had them fixed and sprayed by a local, professional mate and also used Jason Farr of Farrout Paint in Congleton, then took them to Image Works in Derby, who made and fitted the stickers (did it while I waited).
If you check out the V4-Graphics & Style section and go back one page, you'll find my post about Image Works.
Hope this helps.

Re: Nc23 type 5 decal help
I'm not sure which scheme you mean, as my information is that there isn't a "No1 Type5" NC23... Did you mean No5 Type1?
But "Granite blue" usually refers to PB-184M-U, "granite blue metallic", which appears black to some people.
Ciao,

If you go the way of re-paint look at RS paints site, 1988 nc23 colours. They give you all colours used on that model if it's dark grey/granite blue.

Thanks for the information
Is the one paint code for the metallic black and the metallic grey?
I was expecting 2 separate paint codes

Re: Nc23 type 5 decal help
Yes there will be two codes for grey and blue. I'm unsure what they are but rs paints will know or find a fiche for your bike in the documents library as colour codes will be in there. In fact i get a feeling you may need the correct colour base coat as well as the U in the code seems to suggest an undercoat is needed.
