NC30 Fast Wearing Clutch

So my clutch is starting to slip quite badly after only about 1500 miles. I've not had this on my previous bikes, so do these bikes just eat clutches, or am I simply doing it wrong?

It might be due to the type of oil you're using.

Or the make of clutch you fitted.

I don't know the exact clutch I used, but the oil I put in the bike is Motul 10w40 semi synthetic stuff. Technosynthrse 5000 I think is what they call it.

I've never come across any bike that eats clutches, especially in 1500 miles.

Difficult to take a stab in the dark but

a. it's not put together properly and something is loose / missing, ie clutch spring etc.
b. it's not adjusted properly, clutch cable or clutch rod is loose / sticking / mal adjusted.
c. some kind of contamination on the clutch plates.. either from the oil or some other grease / additive
d. most unlikely is that everything is fine and you've worn it out.. i find this almost impossible to believe, it would take some really serious abuse to destroy a clutch in this many miles.

the service manual is in the documents library.. follow the clutch section through and check everythign is installed and the plates / springs are the correct thickness and number and assembled correct.

did you soak the clutch plates in oil before installing?

I did not soak them, I just covered each in the oil before sliding it into place. I'll see about some adjustment first thing, didn't even come to mind to do so. Thanks for the help so far.
