Nc30 gear linkage arm..

Post by powerbio »

Could somebody take a picture of the gear linkage arm as I realised mine wasn't aligned correctly due to the arm having been powder coated and therefore I didn't see the punch mark.
I've put it on to what I think is correct having removed the powder coat but not sure if the mark on the arm is the correct mark?
Even though I've tightened the bold up, the arm has too much movement for sure. So it's obviously not correct.

Thanks.

If its the same as the nc29 the punchmark is on the gear shaft end and I line this up with the open end of the linkage.

On the nc30, the Haynes manual shows a punch mark on both the end of the spline and the gear change arm.
Even after taking the powder coat off the arm I couldn't find a punch mark. So I looked up the part number and Googled it.

The part number for the nc30 on Google shows this arm...

But my gear change arm is totally different...

You have some kind of aftermarket/different bike part there. Does your bike have non OEM rear sets?
The google pic is correct, thats the standard part there which has the dot you line up.

I have some cheap Chinese rearsets on which I put on myself. I can't remember changing the arm though? Maybe I've just forgotten what work I did to the bike 10 years ago?! Lol.
