NC30 1st ride and have issues. help
Hi all
Today I took the NC30 out for the first time.
Did about 10 miles and it's just not running right. The rev counter showing 16k under any load and it just seems really sluggish. Will not rev freely and is will not tick over.
Have a look at the YouTube link and see what you all think.
Thanks

Re: NC30 1st ride and have issues. help
The tacho response appears to be well in excess of the actual engine revs and getting 16k when ridding only confirms that something is not correct. Try measuring the battery voltage when revving the engine, should not exceed 15 volts no matter high high the engine is revved, maybe going higher and upsetting tacho and ignition system.
Suggest you download the service manual from the Document Library on this site and make adjustments to the idle speed and mixture settings get a steady idle.

Sounds like the jets need adjusting. Mine did exactly the same thing and turned out a couple of jets were a quarter of a turn out.

how confident are you that the tacho is an NC30 one - not an RVF one? Stick with it, the bikes are great

Rev counter seems to be working correctly now. I cleaned all the connections and gave the battery a good charge. Got as far as taking the air box off and with it off it runs a lot better.
I downloaded the jetting guide written by Cam and I'll see how that goes.
