Top front engine cover question nc30
Hi guys just found a leak comeing from top front rocker cover on the engine top the grommet wear the bolt goes through is wet so I've ordered a new top front gasket and also the 4 new rubber grommets I know I got tontake the tank and airbox Ect off and top carb cover then I can see the bolts on top so what else do I need to take off to replace this gasket on front top rocker cover is it top radiator off I'm after some guidence instructions step by step would be great I can't find anything in Haynes book on it so back to good site

It can be done with the tank and airbox still on but is a pain in the backside. You can reach the bolts from underneath but it's much easier to get good clear access by taking the tank and aribox off. The top rad needs to be moved in order to get the cover out - again it's probably easiest and only 5 minutes extra to drain the coolant and take it off. The wiring plugs are all colour coded and won't go together wrong so pop them apart and tuck them out of the way too.
The main seal will need something to hold it in place whilst you put the cover on, a touch of sealer here and there in the groove on the cover (just to stop it dropping off) works well.
