NC35 Exhaust Rot query
Hi all
Started my winter project NC35 semi restoration (more of a re-commissioning hopefully, but we will see what that throws up), so taken exhaust off to get better access to shock & linkages and the 40mm or so slotted section that the downpipes fit into beneath the clamp has rotted away, probably on both but definitely on one side. I imagine this will have been encountered before and wondered if there are there suggestions to sort/work around as a fix, as apart from that the exhaust just needs a clean up. thanks

Re: NC35 Exhaust Rot query
You've got a couple of options: replace with a non-rotten system or have the rusted mild steel collars removed and replaced with new stainless ones.
There was a member on here called rcv4 who used to offer this service.

Re: NC35 Exhaust Rot query
I took mine to a guy in Maidstone who welded on stainless collars. Only cost £40

Re: NC35 Exhaust Rot query
rcv4 did my rvf exhaust, not only the lower collars but the upper ones too. Did a top job

Thanks all, the exhaust is now with rcv4 for new collars.
Broken rad lug getting welded in Kendal, forks off for service as seals gone, shock probably needs service as well but might try it first, you never know! New tyres, chain and sprockets, service on brakes and apart from fluids and a good clean that should be it.
