VFR400 RII NC24 Brake lines Original fit

Post by urbanarcher »

Hi Everyone,

Its been a long time since i posted here i have a NC24 in Rothmans Colours its in quite good condition and all original.

The break pipes are aging and i would like to replace them on the original layout 3 pipes front with manifild and one pipe rear. I bought some pipes from a well known online company which are nothing like the originals and they don't seem keen to make a set without having me take off my set and send to them which means BIKELESS :o .
I would rather not send away the only set of lines I have. and be stuck with no bike for as long as they see fit if you know what i mean..
Im wondering if anyone knows anyone that could help make me up a set i can provide full dimentions, angles, Position of support cushions etc I'm in norwich UK?

Oh yes one other thing, HT leads and caps that fit the holes has anyone managed to source any from anywhere yet? Mine could do with renewing as i had to cut and fix a decayed plug cap.

Any help with this would be really be appreciated

most brake line suppliers will make to mesaure, you just need to measure up the origina lines and make notes of the style and angle of ends on them and go from there.

you can get some generic lines that have screw on ends too

I've found Venhill particularly helpful. If you give them a call (rather than email) they'll tell you exactly what info they need and you'll have them in a couple of days. Easy peasy.

I just took my brake lines to a local hydraulics shop and asked if they could make me some up. Went back half hour later an was done. Maybe worth a look at yellow pages and a phone call...

ps do you still get yellow pages???? lol

Thanks for your help guys I guess hydraulic lines are the same thing for rams etc I've heard another recomendation for venhill so i might give them a call.

Neo thanks i understand that i was hoping for something local to avoid the errors and shipping back and forth but everyone recomends seems to recomend venhill so i'll try there first.

Not seen a yellow pages for years its Yell dot com now i guess..

Any good bike shop would be able to make up braided hoses to suit.
