Side stand issue

Hi, I've recently fitted a bmw shock with the htc linkages and it raised the rear end up a fair bit, resulting the bike leaning over on the side stand at an angle which don't look safe. I've done a little research and found that a nc29 stand is a bit longer and fits, but not sure how well... So I'm just trying to find out if any one else with the same mods has had the same issue and how they got over it?

It does work depending on how much bmw shock raises rear you will need to grind spot weld of lower fairing bracket on your nc30 stand to enable use of it on the 29 stand its held in place with the mount bolt when refitting so not an issue .
What i would say is angle of arm is more severe than the nc30 one and held bike a bit more precariously upright for my liking on a bike with a rvf dogbone 18 rear standard shock and on another with rs250 shock 18 rear had to grind a bit of stand mount bracket so arm sat more forward and less likely to roll forward of it.
Angle is wrong unsure if it could be heated and bent outwards slightly then maybe better suited.

Pptom on here succesfully extended a nc30 stand on his build thread that might be a neater option ?

thanks for the reply, a metal worker/ welder friend of mine is going to extend it for me, hopefully he is going to be able to insert a rod into the inside of the stand to make the joins that are welded a bit stronger..

What wheel are you running lee?
Im on a 2012 BMW shock, ricks linkage and rvf rear and the stand is still fine it just looks like a toy next to my crf450x

I'm the original 18 wheel, I had a change of plan since, I decided to buy a nc29 stand which fits but is sits at the wrong angle, pretty much up right on the vfr so that the foot isn't flush to the floor, it sits more on the heel of the foot, which makes the bike sit too upright and looking as though it will roll forward of the stand. So I decided to grind some metal of the stop area and some of the pivot u shape piece where the bolt goes through, taking off an equal amount from each so not to weaken any areas. The angle of the stand is now pointing forward as it should which has also shortened the distance from the floor so the bike leans over closer to the original angle, just need to take a little more of to get it perfect, I'll post some pics when I get a moment so the difference can be seen and the areas ground off to get it right.

Nice motard by the way, I'm after one as well in the near future, probably a 2 stroke though something like a exc300

That's exactly what I found leef ground a bit of the stop but would be interested to see if taking a bit from the stand improves matters .

That should be alrite if you take a couple of mm it should be enough, cheers Its a bit of a handfull to be honest.

I've not long helped a mate of mine rebuild his 300 exc 2stroke bloody good bike just a bit rattley but fun
