Hi Guys,

Just a few pics of my resto project Ducati 1098 front and rear whees, Ducati 320 Discs, CBR1000RR front end etc

Fitting the rear wheel is not a straight forward job, my wheel sits central as it should do, have read some horror stories of people just spacing the Ducati wheel to the right, making wheels out of line.

Happy to talk anyone through the work involved

Any comments/questions welcome

can talk you through it on phone if you like, its not nearly as easy as people think, I have to make alot of special parts to make it all fit together and look factory.

ok a quick breakdown of what steps need to be taken:

The Ducati Wheel has a 6mm offset so in order for the wheel to sit central the swingarm needs to be spaced 6mm to the left, then this puts all the suspension pick up off centre so the swingarm needs to be modified to keep the linkages in oringinal place, the stub shaft needs to be spaced 6mm to counter the ducati offset.

So that gets the weel in the middle, but the honda shaft is bigger than the ducati wheel bore so that needs machining to same size as Honda stub shaft, which then sits too far through the ducati wheel, so the stub shaft needs shortening to match the ducati wheel.

Then the brake disc does not line up so a spacer needs to be made to bring the caliper in line, also the 4 dics bolts foul the ducati wheel so a relief needs to be made on the wheel to madtch the disc bolts, then the chain is out of lineso that needs spacing, also the swingarm adjust needs spacing on RH side as it will wind in too far

Not a cheap or easy job to do but all done and works and looks factory

BTW front was a cinch compared to the rear

Nice work how does the steering feel with a 180 tyre?

Its worth noting for those interested in doing this nc30 and 35 swingarms are different so the same wont necessarily work on a 30.

Think the crappy iphone makes chain look a little out but its straighter than David Cameron lol

Totally correct NC30 and NC35 are different, I have no idea what would need to be done differently, I have a number of sets of the parts made for the conversion, so if anyone needs help etc let me know

As for steering , using the CBR1000RR front end reduces the trail and also lifts the bike, so in conjunction with lifting the back it makes the bike steer quick quick, feels more like a 250 racer than an RVF, No jitters or wobbles from the bars so all seems good
