Hi there,
I've accidentally cracked the sump plug bolt boss on my NC21 (doh!) and have bought both the sump and gasket to replace.
Heard that this is an engine out job and was wondering if anyone had any tips about taking the engine out and putting the new sump on?
Cheers
Geraint

Re: NC21 Sump Removal
It doesn't have to be but its probably easier.
teh nc21 / nc24 have a collectorbox system that covers the sump.
The rear headers are not going to come out easy.
Some people tackle this by removing the subframe / swingarm.. this will then allow you to remove teh exhaut.
if you have an aftermarket stainlles steel system (rare) they have slip joints that allow you to leave the rear headers in place and access the sump.
If you go for the engine out instead of removing the swingarm / subframe then make sure you get every engien bolt soaked in penetrating spray before you start as they can sieze into the aluminium block and if you snap one in another mess trying to sort it.
engien out is fiarly straight forward.
remove chain / disconnect all wiring, drain collant, remove coolant hoses that will snag, radiator. disconnect oil cooler from frame or engine (if from engine drain oil too)
suport engine, remove bolts and lower.
