Headlight and indicators
Hi just bought a nc30 grey import on a 91 this afternoon. It's currently got rear track tail piece on and lights and Indicators removed.
1. Spent a few hours putting road bits back on. The tail piece back is back on but don't seem to have a rear seat catch barrel thing. If rear seat is fitted without the seat catch does the whole tail come off as one piece or does pillion sest need removing first, the tail has a rectangular connector which I think goes on the clip on the rear left but I've still got three wires left but have no idea where these go.

2 fitted the front indicators but don't understand the where the indicator wires connect upto.
3. How do the lights fit onto the brackets and how many screws are there
4 with the lights I've connected the three piece connector to the back of the light but where does the wiring at the rear of the light connect to ( rectangular bit) as there doesn't seem to be anything to connect it to.

Thanks

Re: Headlight and indicators
Best buy and advice, it to get yourself a haynes manual. It will include many details that you are after as well as the wiring diagram. Or have a look in the document library link at top of every page. Or just googggle on wiring diagram nc30.

Re: Headlight and indicators
you have to get both the seats off to remove the rear
the 3 pin connector at the front looks like the speedo restrictor plug that plugs into a wire coming out the back of the speedo if ti hasnt been removed / bypassed.
what colour are the wires?

Re: Headlight and indicators
1. You need to be able to remove the pillion seat first, otherwise you cannot remove tail-light bulbs. The tail light section is part of the complete seat, it is all removed as one piece. If you latch the pillion seat without some means to unlatch it how are you going to get to the fuses and tool kit and remove the sect section. The three pin latching plug looks like the tail/stop loom and the other bullet connectors might be what remains of the oem turn indicator loom.
2. Three pin connector in second picture might be clutch diode, but is a guess. Is there a clutch diode fitted.
3. Front indicators should have paired bullet connectors coming out of the loom.
4. Connector in picture three looks like speed sensor signal and should also have mating connecting from loom.
With so many issues with missing connectors, might be better to get a replacement loom.

1 thanks I thought that was the case. The latch parts seem to be fitted to the subframe but the bit on the doesn't seem to be there unless it's on the track fairing.magg wrote:1. 2.no idea on clutch diode. Coukd the 2nd pic be where the rear indicators connect up?
3. Think I've found them on the same bit as the headlight loom. I does that sound right?
4. There's two of those rectangle connectors on the headlight loom I think it was bit couldn't see anything for it to connect up to. Could they just be surplus plugs?
I don't think there are missing parts as the bike was a fully working bike and bits just removed to out track bits on. Just a case of working out what goes where

The three pin connector I'm referring to is the one of part. 13
