Hello all.
I'm going to bite the bullet and buy the full piston rebuild kit for my GK76A, because cyclinder no. 3 is showing 60 psi less than the others.
I dropped a teaspoom of oil into the cylinder and the compression shot up to about 170psi, so it's definitely the piston rings that need replacing.
Now the opportunity presents inself with the cylinder head off to replace all the valves at the same time.
You're talking another £430 on top for the these, so should I bother?
I don't know the history of the bike at all apart from I'm the 7th owner and I haven't even had the engine running, so I can't comment on that.
It's showing 60k kilometres on the clock.
How long do valves on these bikes generally last anyway?
I don't want to be in a position where I've changed the pistons+rings and put the engine back in the bike only to find that it's underperforming.
What should I be looking for when it comes to inspecting the valves?
Thank you all for your time and knowledge!
Cheers.
Replace Inlet and Exhaust Valves or not?

Have you adjusted valves.
i'd strip it and measure before committing money to parts, rings might be ok and valves knackered etc.

Valves should be ok. Maybe just refinish the seat back to Suzuki spec. Mine were quite hammered at 40k.
