RVF400 review..
from 1999.
Bought the magazine on a whim...cos bored and stuff.
Can't say that I disagree with the conclusion. :)
Wish I'd bought my RVF in 1999...but I'd just bought myself an R1 then...

Great review. Makes you want Spring to hurry up. Though not sure about the smell of burning plastic being 'sweet', more like expensive.

Makes a good read Paul re your rc30 was looking at the bikes on the owners club stand at Stafford last year and quite frankly it made a change seeing bikes that were used and enjoyed by their owners warts n all than some of the dream machine wonders or show ponies for sale .

Lifes too short to sit and polish and worry about getting it dirty. get em used and thrashed and while the value will climb slower than the polished one, at least i got to use and enjoy mine.
At the beginning of the day it was the RC30 they were all fighting over to ride, by the end of the day it was the RVF400

And yes - ride the bikes...don't keep them on a pedestal!
I can only echo what you've said - I've been riding for 20+ yrs and had all sorts of bikes from Ducatis through YZF750s and R1s...the RVF is the most fun bike I've ever had!
