New project nc30
Bought this today for a steal at 400 nzd...came with a rear stand, new set of plugs, the pack rack...ridiculous!! Has been under a tarp for the last year unfortunately and front fairings are all fiberglass, but cracked. And high kms at 92000km. Tyres look legal though and is still registered (which saves about 500$ here in NZ).
Thinking once I get it right mechanically, might Chinese fairing it? As painters here charge 1600$ for a full paint job on one of these bikes [emoji15].
Any thoughts on fixing up the paint that has come off the tank? Does anyone know the paint colours on the tank, in particular the darker blue, and whether it is possible to touch up in some way (or could a painter just fix that stripe?

You my friend are amazing :-). Also useful that it is a sticker, which would explain where it has gone - I imagine the tank is usually plain white underneath, and then assume if I get a kit from image works or the like it will include that sticker?

Re: New project nc30

Starting to pull it apart...goodness, lots of nice stock bits that are often missing - cable holders etc, but some crappy bits too!
Any suggestions on what to do with the radiator holder? Rhs the little circular but it pivots on seems to have sheered off, I was thinking of aryldite, super gluing or bolting something in place? (Suggestions on size and technique?
and the lhs bolt appears to have been snapped off? I've got wd40 in on it now and will try vice gripping it out, then try hacksaw and impact driver...(prev both sides cable tied).
Prev owner noted replacing the rr- the bolt was too long so he stuck a bit of plastic behind it!! (It is another sitting in the shed for years project that he had taken on). Also note the amazing wiring job on the rr. Rhs (?alternator) plug as also been crimped with spades. Have a soldering iron so will see to that :-).
Plastics are half fiberglass half destroyed. Tank isn't in bad nick but unfortunately does have some small surface spots from being outside at a time..
Forks had already been de pitted and seals re done
General surface rust all over the show
Got it at a ridiculous price though so pretty happy. Chuck a set of Chinese fairings on it, get her running with a service and should be all good
