Hello. Welcome to the forum. Αfter termination of production of NC31 models with the version S FiiiV and FiiiW(the last was the rare white aniversary edition)On 22 February1999,the story of Super Four continues with NC39 vtec models as follows:
Started of hyper vtec spec I production 23 February 1999
Ending production hyper vtec spec I 30 January 2002
Started of hyper vtec spec II production 31 January 2002
Ending production hyper vtec spec II 24 December 2003
Started of hyper vtec spec III production 25 December 2003
Ending production hyper vtec spec III 24 Decemper 2007
Started of NC42 hyper vtec Revo 25 December 2007 untill now (if im not wrong).
For more detailed control of each model you should look a part manual.
That's all by me

Re: Hey guys I'm new here..
There are a couple of things that should help you work out the year.
there is this thread from our site, it gives you the years and codes for the bikes, also my '01 spec1 has a white sticker under the seat that has CB400SFY on it,I think the '99 bikes are CB400SFX
viewtopic.php?f=31&t=32928
Then there is
https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Honda_CB400SF
And it should tell you some of the differences in the years.when the vtec kicks in etc.
At a guess, and it would be a guess as I've just bought a spec 1 vtec and I'm trying to work things out myself, your bike is 1999 or 2000 spec 1. Spec 1 bikes ('99/'00/'01) had current fork lowers to the spec 2 bikes ('02) and I think so of the later spec 1 bikes ('01) had a grab rail, mines a .01 and its got a rail.

That's one cool bike royster81.[emoji15] And in my opinion I think the mirrors should be rectangular. Then it would be perfect [emoji7]
And Where can I get oem parts for the cb400sfv? I can't find much on eBay

Re: Hey guys I'm new here..
Now you have the parts fiche you can order Honda parts from
David silver spares
Or
Cmsnl
I don't know where you are in the world or whether either would post to you but an alternative would be our very own member Rick Oliver, he works for a Honda dealership and I'm sure he'll post parts himself for the right money

Re: Hey guys I'm new here..
Welcome. I don't (yet) have a CB400SF, but I do know a fair bit about Hondas. The clue to the bike's Model Year is in the Frame Number:khanxtreme wrote:Just bought my first 400 which I upgraded from a Honda Hornet 250 ch115

NC39-100xxxx 1999 (black, blue, silver)
NC39-101xxxx 2000 (silver, blue, red)
NC39-102xxxx 2001 (black, silver, blue)
NC39-103xxxx 2002 (black, white, silver, blue)
NC39-104xxxx 2003 (black, white, silver, blue, red/white)
There weren't any OEM white Spec1 NC39s with stripes, AFAIK, so those must have been added later, or the whole bike has been resprayed. I have all of the NC39 Honda brochures somewhere, for reference. (Good point about the mirrors!)
Ciao,
