NC30 QA THROTTLE

Post by jamesgoodfella »

Hi all,
Another quick one,
I want a Q/A throttle for my NC30, I looked on Ricks page but they seem a fair old price, I read that the NSR250 mc21 throttle cables fit apparently you need the mc21 throttle to go with it (possibly due to the locating positions)
My question is, is it a certain year NSR throttle that will only work for my bike or any, And it is a quick action throttle as standard right?
Cheers

Is there any other quick action throttles that you guys could recommend,

"HRC Q/A Twistgrip assembly (needs custom cables, see below) £50
Venhill 888 Twin Cable Q/A throttle conversion (inc. cables) £105
Venhill 600A Single Cable, 90deg pull Q/A throttle (inc cable) £70"

This is the latest from RO and he lists a few types of QA throttles. I bought the HRC version from him. If you only use the "throttle open" cable with this kit from your standard bike, you will be ok. If you want to use it with both throttle cables, then you will need to replace the "throttle closed" cable. I use only one cable with mine and have no probs
If i can wrench on cars, bikes should not be a problem, right?...

Hi jpete41996,
Seems interesting, The HRC kit looks the business but pricey if the cable isnt included.
Also i did read the NSR250 setup works well so i was really hoping someone has tried it, and can give me details on that.
My max all in all is around £60 to be honest, If anyone's selling second hand im happy ;)
Cheers

Not sure about the NSR250 set up but if your old throttle open cable is still usable and you are Ok with only using one cable then the HRC comes in under your budget. I replaced my cable with a Slinky Glide cable sold on Wemoto and I think it was only 12 pounds. 62 pounds plus shipping is pretty close to your budget[emoji57]

Depending on the size of the throttle tube the std. throttle cable may not work. On my bike a prior owner fitted a larger tube (still have not figured out which one) and the std. cable didn't fit mine. I had to custom order a cable based on the old cable. Just a little bit of a PITA. Now, MotionPro (company in States used) has the cable on file, so should be to re-order easily in 5 years when this new cable wears out. :P
