oil pressure switch and temperature sensor
Hello,
Im new to this forum.
I have a honda cb400 super four nc31 year of manufacture 1997 and currently modifying it to a cafe racer.
My next thing to is installing an oil preasure cage and a temperature care. The problem is that im not sure where the oil pressure switch is. From previous post i looked on this forum i think that i found it but if you confirm is better. Is it underneath the 3rd and 4th carburettors just behind the clutch housing?
The fact is that before i buy the oil pressure cage i would like to measure the thread where it has to fit into so that i can buy the fitting.
Do i need a straight fitting, 45 degree fitting or a 90 degree elbow fitting and what size of fitting?
The second thing i need help is to locate the temperature sensor.
Thanks in advance,
Aaron

Re: oil pressure switch and temperature sensor
hi Aaron, on the 1993 bike the oil pressure switch is where you described under the carbs. the temp sender is situated under the fuel tank towards the front of the frame. you will find a cast aluminium arrangement with the coolant filler cap on the right side and the temp sender on the left side. mine has a single black wire with two dashes of green on it. as for the thread type If you have no luck sorting it i would take the switch to a bike workshop or hydraulics workshop such as Pertek for verification. the angle of fitting you need will depend on were you want to fit the gauge and the space available. I have used Pertek for advice, fittings and made to measure braided brake and clutch lines. other hydraulic workshops are available.

Re: oil pressure switch and temperature sensor
Thank you for the reply. I will locate the temperature sensor :) with regard to the oil pressure switch i was going to install Accel 100psi pressure gauge but have to order it online thats why i need to check regarding the fitting size i need.
The problem i encountered today is that i removed the air bix to install 4 cone filters instead. Went to my local agent of kn filters and the idel cone filter would be RU-2690. On carb 2 and 3 it fits perfectly but on 1 and 4 there is the frame just in front of the carburettors when trying to insert the filter.
I can try and squeeze it in but have to check if there is enough space between carburettor 1 and 2 to fit next to each other. Couldnt try this out at the shop.
I wonder if anybody encountered this problem and know if these cone filters fit perfectly next to each other .
Thanks again guys and gals :)

how's the project going? did you get the cones sorted, did you need to re-jet. have you fitted a gauge etc etc.

Re: oil pressure switch and temperature sensor
I bought the ramair 35mm foam filters. With regards to rejeting we did not find bigger jets instead we took the current jets to an engineering workshop and widen them but still was not good so now we worked and a cover to sit in front each carburettor held in place by the foam filter. This reduce airintake and make calibration possible.
Tomorrow will be finalized hopefully :)
With regards the oil pressure gauge i bought the Accel oil pressure gauge which i will install this week hopefully :) will keep you posted.
Thanks
